Aerial Tram: Nearing the end
I've been building an n-scale aerial tram for past 2 weeks. Progress has been slow because I've had to wait on figures (people) and a new air brush. The figures arrived today so there is very little to hold up the project now.
Today I have worked on lighting/wiring for the stations. Results were good. Very frustrating that many supplies that I need are rare in my area. Sure we have a radio shack but that ain't saying much. Besides, my aim here is to do the best job I can with as little money as possible. I can only include a fraction of cost for the scale figurines and airbrush because these should be spread out over many models.
The airbrush was a steal at $14.00. Seems to be a damned good buy (shipping from hong kong cost more $15.00)... it is duel action, metal material, 3 needles & tips, hose with adapter to fit compressor line, etc...
The figurines (100 people for 9.00 + shipping) made me laugh. They came in a box that fits in the palm of my hand and the bag/people inside was even smaller.
I have a few decisions to ponder. First, the observation room on the upper station I see as a restaurant; while the outside (upper) observation deck is just open viewing to the alps. For the restaurant, I could use standard paper window fillers but the observation room seems to be a focal point of the model thus demanding attention to reality. The 'restaurant' would need tables & chairs. Chairs are difficult at this scale. I may build tables with benches and have customers sitting around. I'll give it a go...
The outside viewing deck I see as having picnic tables and umbrellas. I've practiced this a bit and results were fair. Perhaps flags and viewing machines around the deck edges.
